On April 8, 2022, six student-team finalists pitched their startup concepts in Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s annual Launch Your Venture business competition, hosted at the university’s Research Park. Four of the six teams were comprised of Embry-Riddle students. These student-led startups were formed in entrepreneurship courses taught by Dr. Ramy Rahimi, which incorporate NASA-developed technology through NASA’s Technology Transfer University Program. NASA’s T2U program connects universities with NASA-developed technology to give students the opportunity to work with federal government research and technology. The six teams delivered 10-minute pitch presentations, followed by a question-and-answer session, before a panel of judges. Three startups won seed funding, with the first-place winner taking home $10,000. All winning teams also earned professional business consultations and in-kind prizes.
