Simple, reliable, and safe battery management for high-voltage battery systems
When it comes to electric cars, it’s all about the battery. NASA’s battery management system monitors and balances the charge of individual battery cells in a series and can pinpoint a problem no matter how many cells are in the battery pack. Affordable, reliable, and made with fewer connections, this technology keeps you up and running.
Solar-powered tech converts greenhouse gas to fuel
Looking for a cheap way to turn carbon dioxide into fuel? NASA has created a thin-film device that converts the problematic greenhouse gas into fuel before it reaches the atmosphere. The fuel is compatible with all existing fuel utilities and has a zero carbon footprint.
Cryogenic fluid tanks offer safer fuel storage with faster charge-up times
NASA has found a way to store fuel with less pressure by exploiting a unique attribute of nanoporous materials, such as aerogel. Tanks made with aerogel can store gases, such as oxygen and hydrogen, in their liquid state. Less pressure means a safer system of storage with extremely fast charge-up times providing fuel on demand. The final product is a compact fuel storage solution that can be used anywhere from cubesats, aircraft, ground transportation and even medical applications.
